ABOUT THE INSTALLATION
In 2002, RxART’s first hospital project was originally considered a “trial run” at Rockefeller University Hospital in New York City, made possible by Dr. Barry Coller, the hospital’s Physician-in-Chief and Vice President for Medical Affairs. The installation, which is still on view over 20 years later, features artwork selected for its spiritually uplifting, thought-provoking, and cheerful characteristics. Artists represented include Mel Bockner, Mel Chin, Michele Oka Doner, Matthew Ritchie, Louise Nevelson, Frank Stella, Jessica Stockholder, Robert Therrien, Wolfgang Tillmans, Fred Tomaselli, and others.

ABOUT THE HOSPITAL
The Rockefeller University Hospital is devoted entirely to research. The hospital provides critical expertise, personnel, and programs to help Rockefeller scientists through every stage of clinical investigations, from establishing patient protocols to conducting Phase I and Phase II clinical trials. The current scope of patient-based studies at the Rockefeller Hospital encompasses a broad range of subjects including cancer, diabetes, obesity and weight loss, heart disease, hepatitis, HIV/AIDS, blood disorders, neurological disorders, psoriasis, and COVID-19.
