The Challenge
The failure of American medical facilities to consider aesthetics can sometimes result in negative patient experiences. Following the COVID-19 pandemic, hospitals are working to address this omission and humanize their environments through the inclusion of quality art—and they need your help.
Our Approach
RxART believes collaboration between industries and areas of expertise is the key to improving medical environments and the healthcare experience. We connect hospitals across the nation with established artists who care about creating art with purpose and placing it in healthcare settings in meaningful ways.
Your Impact
From transforming a drab waiting room into a vibrant experience to diffusing the imposing nature of a scanner suite, your gift today is an investment in RxART hospital projects. Join us in improving the infrastructure of the American healthcare system and directly benefiting patients, providers, and communities.

I'm an artist! How can I get involved? The RxART artist selection process engages our partner hospitals, our internal team, and a group of advisors. We suggest artists whose work aligns with each project's specific scope, and the hospital leadership ultimately decides on the commission. Consequently, we do not accept artist submissions. Nonetheless, we remain enthusiastic about discovering and being introduced to new artists, and artists are encouraged to share their work with us. If we believe there is potential for collaboration in the future, we will reach out directly.
-
I work at a hospital! How do I get in touch with RxART?RxART is always happy to hear from hospitals that are interested in bringing our work to their patients. If you are a healthcare worker or work in hospital or healthcare administration, please fill out the inquiry form and we will be in touch with you. Learn more about RxART’s process here.
-
Does RxART donate art to hospitals?RxART does not donate art to hospitals. Our model involves commissioning artists to create transformative, site-specific installations in hospital settings. These projects are specifically designed for the spaces identified by our healthcare partners, and our agreements stipulate that the installations are loans that will remain in place for at least five years.
-
Are the artists paid for their commissions?Collaborating artists are provided with a modest honorarium and the chance to create a public installation with purpose. RxART is honored to work with some of the most celebrated artists of our time, all of whom are committed to advancing our mission.
-
Does RxART charge the hospitals for their projects?RxART proudly realizes our projects at no cost to our hospital partners. This means RxART assumes full responsibility for fundraising and financing each hospital project. Click here to help us make more projects possible!
-
I want to volunteer! How can I get involved? While RxART does not currently offer in-person volunteer opportunities, the best way to help us is by following and sharing us on social media, signing up for our newsletter, and spreading the word about our mission and our upcoming projects. Additionally, reaching out to your local pediatric hospital or clinic to inquire if they are interested in our coloring books is a great way to ensure RxART reaches as many people as possible.
-
How do I request a coloring book donation?RxART donates 90% of our coloring books to pediatric hospitals. Please fill out the form here to request up to 1,000 coloring books for your hospital!
